'This is a collection of a few covers I have recorded over the eighteen months I have been an artist. All the profits from this digital-only pay-what-you-want release will go to The Alzheimers Society.
The reason I chose this charity was from seeing how this disease affected a grandparent of mine; after being diagnosed with Vascular Dementia, she eventually lost her sense of reasoning and struggled to communicate basic emotions as well as becoming physically weaker. After a series of falls that led to Esophageal Dysphagiashe (an inability to swallow), she died on October 24th 2012.
The truth is, she’d been lost for years before that, with doctors only willing to diagnose her with “depression” despite symptoms showing up long before that. If a correct diagnosis had be made and the condition had been jumped on earlier, then the half decade decay that I could only sit and watch would've surely been more manageable. You can’t die from dementia but an early diagnosis would’ve led to a more stable decline, The Alzheimer’s Society helps raise awareness and goes a long way to help and support those in need.'
