The Common Goals Web-Store is now open!

We are very happy to announce that the Common Goals Web Shop is now open!

This week we managed to dodge the summer downpours and pop out to take a few quick snaps of the first range of Common Goals Tees! Fresh back from a state side trip to record their third album, Nic from local punk rock ‘n’ roll outfit The Computers kindly assisted us…

The Arteries shirt was designed by bassist Jamie, whose design work can be seen on the CD sleeves and shirts of countless bands around the UK (and beyond!).

The band are a 5-piece from Swansea and are one of the hardest working in the UK, touring pretty much all the time. We are massively excited to have these guys involved with Common Goals. We first met these guys when they toured with the Cut Ups in 2008 and have been close friends ever since. As soon as we had the idea for this project we knew straight away that they would be the first band we would ask to join.

For their charity The Arteries have chosen the Mumbles Lifeboat Station in Swansea. The station has a remarkable history of bravery for over 170 years and its crews have been presented with 33 awards for gallantry. The crews of the lifeboats are almost entirely volunteers.

This awesome ‘brain in a jar’ T-shirt was designed by Iona Cairns, bassist in Great Cynics.

The band are a three piece from London playing up-beat folk/punk rock songs and their second album 'Don't Need Much' was released by Kind of Like Records in the US and the legendary Household Name Records in the UK.

The band have nominated the Motor Neurone Disease Accociation as their selected charity. They are the only national charity in England, Wales and Northern Ireland that funds and promotes global research into the disease and provides support for people affected by MND.
The Association was formed in 1979 by a group of volunteers who wanted to co-ordinate support, guidance and advice for people affected by the illness. They now have 3,000 volunteers in England, Wales and Northern Ireland and 150-plus paid staff, all dedicated to improving the lives of people affected by MND, now and in the future.

All proceeds (£10 per t-shirt sold) are donated directly to the charity chosen by each band! At the end of the month we’ll announce exactly how much we raised for each particular charity, and how close we are to having the funds to work with the next band!

Support the CG project by wearing this awesome Common Goals shirt, featuring the lightbulb logo designed for us by the incredibly talented Jamie Morrison from the Arteries!

The Common Goals shirt is an integral part of the project as all the profits from this shirt go towards paying for the printing of the next band design. So once we sell enough CG shirts we can ask a new band to design a shirt for us!

All Common Goals T-shirts are 100% Organic Cotton, and screen printed by hand using water based inks.

As well as our first t-shirts, we’ve also made a Common Goals Zine, which includes information about what we do and the people involved in the project so far, as well as a sneaky peak of our next design by the Cut-Ups - which is being printed by Get A Grip, and will be released in a just few weeks!  What’s more, the Zine folds out into an A3 sized Common Goals poster, and comes complete with a Common Goals Badge and sticker!  All proceeds from the Zine sets go towards funding the t-shirts for the next bands we work with.

Please remember that the easiest way to support common goals is to tell people about us! Help us to spread the work via Facebook and Twitter, as well as at shows and everywhere else you can J

Next week we’ll be giving a proper introduction to Get A Grip, the newest addition to the Common Goals Team!

Have a great weekend, thanks for reading,

Jack and Nath.
