COMMON GOALS LAUNCHES IN EXETER!

So here we are at long last, ready to launch the project! Common Goals has been well over a year in the making, and we're so excited to finally get things well and truly underway!  It's hard to believe that we've come from Jack's initial idea, to work with the punk rock community to raise awareness and money for charitable causes, to the stage where we are ready to do just that!

This coming Saturday (2nd June) Common Goals will be launching at No Guts No Glory's Handmade Arcade. The Indie Art Market will take place all day outside the No Guts No Glory Shop in Exeter's McCoys Arcade!  Be sure to check out their Facebook event page for more info about the day!

So what is Common Goals?  Well, the aim of the project is to raise money and awareness for a range of charities though the sell of hand printed Organic T-Shirts that are designed exclusively for Common Goals by UK based Punk Rock bands!

Our first batch of shirts are brought to you courtesy of The Arteries and Great Cynics, raising money for both Mumbles Lifeboat Station in Swansea (the arteries home town!) and the Motor Neurone Disease Association. Common Goals are also launching our own logo design - of which all proceeds will go towards printing the shirts of the next band! Check out the designs below:

Massive thanks to The Arteries and Great Cynics for getting involved in our project - we were totally blown away by both designs! As well as all of this, the shirts are to be closely followed by our next design by Exeter DIY punk stalwarts The Cut Ups.

So how does it work? We sell each of these awesome T-shirts for £15, donating 100% of all proceeds directly to the charity nominated by each particular band! So thats £10 from each sale to charity, and £5 to pay for us to reprint the design.  The T-Shirts aren't limited (although we may decide to mix up the colours sometimes), so we can continue to raise as much money as we can for the selected charities!

It is really important to us that Common Goals becomes a sustainable and ongoing charitable enterprise. We hope to help as many charities as we can over the next couple of years, and are starting as we mean to go on.

So Saturday 2nd June sees Common Goals launch at HANDMADE ARCADE, before travelling up to Lincoln for Crash Doubt Fest on Sunday and then returning to Exeter on Monday to set up shop at the punk all-dayer in the Cavern! As well as the Common Goals T-Shirts, we'll also have our own Common Goals Zines, Badges and Stickers with us, so whatever fun times you have in store for this bank-holiday weekend make sure you include a visit to our stall!

The opportunity to snap up one of our hand screenprinted shirts doesn't end there either! Our online store will open the following weekend (Saturday 9th June) so if you can't make any of our launch dates then don’t worry as you can still buy all of the shirts from the comfort of your own home :)

We're so happy to have made it to this stage, and would like to say a massive THANK YOU to all of the lovely people who have helped us get to this point…..

The creative genius that is Jamie Arteries for designing our awesome Common Goals logo.

Katy Christianson for screenprinting our first batch of shirts. They look amazing! We were saddened to hear that Katy is putting the screenprinting on hold to focus on her illustration work, but before we even had to time to panic about our future prints, the legendary GET A GRIP came to the rescue. We are very excited to be working with Sam and will be posting some more information about him and his shirts soon.

Tom Cross for turning all of our rough sketches and notes into beautiful designs for our flyers and posters.

Lastly we would like to give a massive thanks to Jack’s brother Tom who was kind enough to help fund the project. It is safe to say that without this Common Goals would not have been possible. Cheers bro!

See you real soon,

Jack Hyde & Nathan Blaker
